The Mountain Biking in Les Gets & Morzine is much celebrated, and it is the biggest and best bike resort in the Alps. The resort plays host to World Cup and World Championship cross country and downhill bike competitions. It offers a superb range of facilities and trails to suite all levels of rider.  It also boasts the widest area of bike trails and largest network of ski lifts open to bikers in Europe. It is very popular with downhill riders, with several man made courses featuring berms, banks, tunnels, jumps and northshore.  The area also appeals to the Cross Country bikers with a staggering 1000 kilometres of bike trails comprising of Fire Roads and Single-track riding.

XC - Cross Country

For the XC enthusiast, the almost never-ending trails wind their way up and down the mountains, through the alpine forests, crossing rivers and through alpine pastures. Covering the border between France and Switzerland the trails represent mountain biking at its best. The 'Tour' of the Portes-du-Soleil is an 80km marked trail looping round the whole region. Making use of the network of lifts the tour gives an amazing 80% downhill, 15% on the flat, and just 5% climbing.

DH - Downhill Routes

From straightforward off road riding, forest firetracks and wide grassy slopes to huge jumps, scary landings, impossible surfaces and split second decision making, there are routes to suit all levels of rider. Try out some of the 2004 world circuits in Les Gets or the French National downhill course in Avoriaz. The vast amounts of trails mean there is something for everyone. The beginners even have "learner" DH courses to sink their teeth in to, and the mass of DH tracks on offer grade upwards in terms of difficulty to the Avalanche Cup courses, so the experts are well entertained.
