Lake Garda offers the best tracks you're ever likely to find for mountain biking, as well as the breath taking scenery of northern Italy. The riding is very varied offering forested trails, single-track, ridge top rides, high alpine passes and military tracks originating from the first world war. The tracks vary from cart width to person width, and offer exhilarating biking for all abilities

Alpine Elements offer mountain bike holidays to Lake Garda, where the main resort is Torbole. This resort is positioned with easy access to the network of trails in the surrounding rugged mountains and canyons. Some tracks start directly from the accommodation whilst others commence after a short transfer to a starting point so as to gain higher altitude for hair raising descents. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, Sporty types will feel spoilt for activities and families will be happy with the nearby beaches and well priced restaurants and bars. Lake shore cycling through Olive groves and Vine yards are a popular choice with couples and families you can take lunch and cafe stops and try wine tasting along the way.

Unlike the French Alps, Garda is not full of Chairlifts, cable cars and manmade Downhill courses. The appeal lies within the quality and variety of rides, together with the atmosphere, sunshine and incredible lakeside scenery. Local bike hire is easy to find and there are endless routes at altitude or more calm rides around the lake shore.

Bikers will find thrilling rides at 2000 metres, there are numerous route maps and itineraries available online. The single-track and dirt roads upon Mt Altissimo curve around the cliffs high above the lake providing spectacular views. Also highly recommended are the off-road routes through the woods on the slopes of Mt Velo. It's a great place to spend the day developing your biking skills and relaxing in a charming Italian atmosphere.
